About the Startup

Instill Education was incorporated in Kenya as INSTILL EDUCATION – KENYA LIMITED on the 20th of June, 2023. The company has two directors listed at registration which includes Lydia Wuangi and Instill Education, Mauritius who own 100% of the company. Currently, the company has 20 entities on its cap table, including 5% ESOP. The biggest shareholders are Alim Ladha who owns 40.96% of the company, and  Proceed EdTech Limited who owns 9.09% of the company.

Why was the Startup selected?

Instill Education’s technology has the potential to significantly improve Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) education by providing accessible and effective teacher training and development opportunities. The solution addresses the critical need for improved teacher training and development, a crucial factor in determining student academic success. By empowering teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge, Instill Education’s technology can help bridge the learning gap and enhance the quality of education, particularly in underserved communities. The company’s mobile app, Upskill, offers bite-sized online modules that cater to teachers across Africa, aligning with education standards in South Africa, Ghana, and Kenya. This inclusive approach extends the solution’s reach beyond urban centers to peri-urban and rural areas, serving the children who need it most. Through the Venture Studio, the company can improve the types of resources provided to teachers beyond just professional development to lesson preparation and classroom aids, increasing the value of support to teachers.
